Health Care Policy

I'm fascinated with health care policy, especially Medicaid and the consequences of the Affordable Care Act.
I currently work at the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers in Camden, New Jersey
I also worked at TennCare, the State of Tennessee's Medicaid department.
I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon.
As a grad student, I interned at Senior Connections, a agency focused on community-based senior care in Atlanta, Georgia.
Health care in America is too complicated. I believe we need a runway to a single payer system.

Data Analysis

I love data analysis and data visualization.
I have taught myself R, love using RStudio, and think the various packages in the "tidyverse" are the best thing going.
Creating databases and performing analysis using SQL and PostgreSQL is a lot of fun.

With growing interest in data analysis and visualization, I've been learning to be a better coder.
I am in no means a software engineer, but I took an intensive Ruby on Rails course (portfolio), practice my web development skills (this site, among others), and put up all my work on GitHub.
